Everyone who is hunting in Norway must be able to prove that they have the necessary skills by compliting training and pass a hunter exam. To hunt small animals in Norway you must be 16 years old. Nevertheless, you can attend training hunting from the year you reach 14 until you are 16.
Everyone who is going to pursue regular hunting must have passed a hunter test and have paid the annual hunting fee to the state. In order to hunt big animals, an annual shooting test must also be submitted. For deer and moose hunting, you must have access to a search dog.
In most cases, you need the landowners´ permission to hunt. NJFF has prepared draft leases that you can customize.
