Dønnes Church is one of three medieval churches in Helgeland (Alstahaug, Herøy, Dønna), built in stone and with a distinctive architecture. The church was built in the 1100s as a private church for the manor. It has a separate tomb (mausoleum) for the owner’s’ family, that was built in the late 1600s.
This is the largest and best preserved mausoleum in Norway, with 22 coffins from the families Tonder and Coldevin. There are several other cultural treasures in the church.
Guided tour in the church every day at 11.00, 14.00 and 17.30.
